Colorado Energy Expo 2015
The Colorado Energy Expo, in its second year, received significant media relations and consumer audience support from the Webb Strategic team. In a new location this year (Sports Authority Field at Mile High) the Energy Expo is a showcase of the technology, environmental awareness and employment potential of the state’s energy industry leaders, showcasing wind, hydro and solar, oil and natural gas.
The Communications Objective was to increase the public awareness of the importance of this industry segment on the Colorado economy.
Strategy: Social and earned media outreach were used to reach audiences and tune them in the facts that this valuable element of Colorado business has fascinating stories and really cool jobs. A fleet of downtown “B-cycles” were emblazoned with Energy Expo logos and information. A new element this year appealed to high school students, with a student career development forum, as well as a “Women in Energy” panel. Visitors were also given the opportunity to drive a variety of alternative-energy powered vehicles in the stadium parking lot.
Results: This year’s Energy Expo attracted persons interested in all forms of energy as a career, as well as exposed visitors to experts and in-house resources for companies provides services to business and consumers, from energy-saving devices and strategies to new educational opportunities.
